ICONS & IMAGES AT CURATORS VOICE ART PROJECTS SATURDAY MAY 18 / 6-10PM

ABOUT THE SHOW

"From revolting images to iconic signs and emblems of society, these proposals insert ideological concerns and reflections of our contemporary time. From photography to video, painting, sculpture and installation, the artists revert techniques or appropriate and revive the art history. Through the intertext of the visual images or through univocal frontal figures, the artists signal and echo societal issues: the critical feminine condition, the chaos of urban life, the money factor, death or war, the critical poverty condition in poor countries, lay underneath some of the works. Others convey more gentle approaches towards a more temperate reality giving the viewer a less abrasive view of the world. The show presents latest generations that undertake their lead in the art. Artists Malena Assing, Nadia Benatar, Carolina Bustillos, Gretel Capriles, Mariano Costa Peuser, Oly Diaz, Claudia Di Paolo, Marilyn Duarte, Corina Hernandez, Felipe Herrera, Winibey Lopez, Cheryl Maeder, Monro, Rafael Muci, Jean Nestares, Rubem Robierb, Anica Shpilberg set parameters and grounds for the visual arts."
