TAKING FLIGHT, ESCAPE from the ZOO OF St. JEAN CAP FERRAT written and illustrated by Jean (Piki) Nestares will be presented by its publisher in three of the major book fairs in the world BOOK EXPO AMERICA (BEA)

  • The Jacob K. Javits Center, New York City May 25 -27, 2010
  • The Beijing Internacional Book Fair (BIBF) - China August 30 -September 3, 2010
  • THE FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR - Germany October 6 -10, 2010

Jean shares her thoughts about these important events:
"The three fairs are important for different reasons: New York City is the world’s publishing capital. It introduced the digital revolution to a new business model and pioneers the changes in the book industry. The Chinese market is growing at a staggering rate with English language publications. Today the Chinese government enforces a policy that makes it mandatory for all Chinese children to learn English at an early age. For the first time, the U.S. and U.K. publishers will attend the Beijing fair. As for Frankfurt, European experts, publishers, bookseller, agents, film producers come together each year in October to create new trends. These fairs bring together more than 8.000 exhibitors with more than 200.000 visitors in just a few days. This kind of traffic and exposure create new opportunities for authors and illustrators."
